The Finer Details
-
What do you design? We produce comprehensive designs that include all elements within your garden concept. This could include entertainment areas, firepits, pergolas, decks, pathways, water features, vegetable patches, retaining walls, plants, lawns, and fencing.
-
How can I get a design? Our design process involves three stages; the initial consultation, development of your concept, and finalisation of the design (this becomes your Master Plan). We will provide you with advice on layout, materials, plants, and budget throughout the entire process. Contact us to get started.
-
What is involved in the initial consultation? We will organise a time to meet with you on-site to discuss your goals, ideas, and requirements specific to your garden and lifestyle. Please allow up to an hour for the initial consultation. We use the time to get to know you, how you would like to use the space, and what the overall feel of the surrounding area is - this ensures the design encapsulates all aspects of a functional and beautiful garden. We also aim to give you an idea of the possibilities for your garden - these ideas become the basis for your concept plan. After the consultation, we will send you a design fee proposal for your consideration. This will outline the cost for producing the garden concept including sketches and masterplan. Please note, this does not include any construction costs.
-
What is involved in developing the concept plan?Upon acceptance of the design fee proposal, we will visit the site to complete a site analysis. This will include taking measurements and photographs of the site. From there, we will begin to explore the options for your design; taking into account your own ideas and needs of the space. We will then present the design concept that we feel best meets your needs and brief for you to review and provide feedback.
-
What is involved in producing the final design plan? The final master plan is the refined version of the concept plan which reflects your feedback. The final plan can include scaled drawings highlighting landscape structures and plants, colour palettes, recommended materials, and images of inspiration.
-
How long does a design take?Ultimately it depends on the complexity of the design, feedback we receive from you as the client, and whether council approval is needed. Holiday periods can also impact timeframe. If the design is fairly simple and does not require council feedback then you can expect to receive your plan within 2 - 3 weeks. However we will discuss this with you so you are aware of timeframe expectations.
-
What is the cost of my design? No two design quotes are the same. The design fee is based on your requirements and will vary depending on the size of your property, any slopes on the site, the complexity of the design elements chosen, and the amount of time needed to draw your master plan. Your initial consultation will allow us to determine the scope of the design and then we can provide you with a design plan quote.
-
Who creates my design? All our designs are created collaboratively. When it comes to design, it's important we explore a variety of concepts and ideas to ensure the final plan reflects the most outstanding landscape design. Working together as a team allows us to do this.
-
My house hasn't been built yet. Can I still have a design created?Yes. We can review your house plans and incorporate a design that would work perfectly with the site. Having a landscape design plan in place can be helpful for your architect or builder as they coordinate the indoor and outdoor spaces.
-
I have my Master Plan. What is the next step?Once your design plan is finalised, we will send you a PDF version as well as three printed copies (A4 or A3 depending on the scope of the plan). You are welcome to take these plans to any Landscape construction company to quote. Of course, you can request a quote from us too. The beauty of continuing the landscape journey with us is we know exactly what you're after and have already built a working relationship with you. We would love to work with you to turn the master design plan into reality. Click here for more information about the Landscape Construction phase.
